Gulf Stream Search is an executive search firm that specializes in the placement of top talent in the food manufacturing industry.
We're currently assisting a client to help them identify a Key Account Manager - the company is a contract food manufacturer and is looking for someone to manage a select portfolio of well-known companies in the food, drug, and mass channels.
They are well-known and well-respected within their industry and each of their manufacturing facilities throughout the US have the highest levels of Food Safety certification.
The Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of each business relationship, including:
  • Managing product development and recipe formulation process - working with customer representative and internal R&D / Production teams and driving the innovation process from concept through launch.
  • Serve as primary contact between customers and internal teams(Operations, Executive Team, Manufacturing, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, R&D and Procurement) to ensure timely development, manufacturing and shipment of product.
  • Resolve any account specific issues related to product orders, new product development, forecasts, regulatory requirements, etc. as they arise.
  • Forecast and track key account metrics; prepare, analyze, and share account status reports with internal teams.
  • Meet periodically with each account to review performance, expectations and goals for each customer.
We're looking for someone with the following background:
  • 5+ years in a customer facing sales / account management function
  • 3-5+ years managing customer relationships in Food, Drug, and Mass Channels, preferably in food categories.
  • Keen attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience working with cross functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a result driven environment.
  • Ability to prioritize among competing tasks.
  • Ability to function effectively in both strategic and tactical levels
  • Degree in Business, Marketing or 5+ years related experience.
Travel will be account driven and is estimated to be 25-35% annually.
